Description
1. Blue and pink thistle in margins of folio of a Book of Hours featured with acanthus leaves.
2. "Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled with wimple, holding swaddled Christ Child, nimbed, is seated sideways on bridled ass. Small ox walks next to the ass, behind Joseph the Carpenter, wearing hat, with purse at waist, carrying with right hand on right shoulder, bedwarmer or warming pan draped with sack or cloth. He walks with crutch in left hand. Scene in landscape with buildings, stream, field of grain (?), hills; star or sun at top of frame." - The Morgan Library and Museum
